I feel that the woman under the stairwell would reunite with her family members as she was separated with her family after the partition. Like any woman, she would try her best to reunite with her family. In the story, I think she might be trying to earn some money before going back as she need the money for transport.
" The adventure of the sparkled band" by Sir Arthur Conna Doyle:
For this story, I think that Sherlock Holmes with his friend, Watson would solve this case very unusually as what Watson had said, Sherlock Holmes only takes up unusual cases. Since it is a unusual case, a unusual method is most likely used to solve it.
